Finally, I am getting some work done on the Thing. I have a shop weekend planned on Dec 17, 18 and 19. The Aircoolers Gang plan to stop in and help when they can. My goal is to have the car running and drivable on Sunday December 19th. It won't be "Finished" but good enough to drive again. I cleaned up the shop to prepare for Shop Weekend. I cleaned and prepped the frame horns for the POR-15 I have the POR-15 applied to the frame horns and torsion tube: "G"

I worked on the Thing! I hurt myself patting me on the back. I got the engine dressed, and discovered a problem with the transmission front mount so the tranny is out again to fix the problem. I have all the parts and it won't take long to fix. On another note looks like I'll be moving to Long Beach sometime this year. Plans are already in the works to move my tools, the Thing and my motorcycle in March. Sometime between April and October I'll be moving myself. If anyone knows of a cheap place to store stuff let me know. "G"

The Thing is happily or unhappily in Long Beach. I towed it over 1900 miles on a tow bar. We had a tire blow out in Louisiana at the beginning of the trip. I lost a fender, damaged the bumper and running board. I also have these black streaks all over the side. The car does run but I need to replace the front wheel cylinders, the master cylinder and the hoses from the resevoir down to the master cylinder. I also need a Thing fender for the rear drivers side. I doubt I'll be able to drive it in CA without the fender. I'll be back in Long Beach on the 22nd. "G"
