California Speedway in Fontana, California THE BUG-IN Returns to Southern California Last summer was the first European Bug-In. There has also been the Northwest Bug-In, the Texas bug-In, the Phoenix Bug-In and the Colorado Bug-In, to name a few. There have been Bug-Ins in Hawaii, Australia and Japan . . . but there is only one that is simply known as THE BUG-IN! It is the Southern California phenomena that started it all. The original Bug-In was held 31 times at the legendary Orange County International Raceway from the time it opened in 1968 until its closure in 1983. In 2005 the event was resurrected at the California Speedway in Fontana, California. The CB Performance Bug-In 32 was held that May to a capacity crowd. The participation was phenomenal – over 600 cars in the car show and over 200 racers in the drag racing program – spectators came from all over the world. Over the last three years, the drag strip was moved from one side of the famous California Speedway oval track to the other. It has taken a while to get the facility up to speed and there were some scheduling problems but now a date has been agreed on, Sunday April 6th. 2008. That will be the date of BUG-IN 33 at the California Speedway Drag Strip in Fontana, CA, Mark your calendars!
