Like I said before, I will take it easy because you plan everything but you don have control of what's really happening. Too many setbacks. First, I had all the drums (4pcs) send to powder coat and it took longer that expected because two of them had too much grease on them. Once i got hem (4 day after expected) i took them to mi mechanic so he can turn them. Well, He can only turn 3 of them because the 4th one wasn't straight. He told me he can try and turn it but won't come out right and when I install it the tire won't spin straight. Now, by that time I had to find another drum to replace that one. Couldn't find one for almost a week and finally found one. this time I took the drum to my mechanic first so he can tell me if it was straight and good to use before I powder coat it. He gave me the OK so I took it to get powder coat. Wait for another 4 days to get it back from that place. I tried to take it back to get it turn right after it got powder coat but my mechanic was very busy that Friday so I took it back with me and tried other places like Pep-boys, Midas, tire shops, etc. and nobody had the right adapter to turn a VW Beetle drum. I took it back to my mechanic on Monday but he was still busy that week so it took him 3 day to get to my drum but when he did it came out great. The good thing is that my mechanic didn't charge me for it. I have a 4 tab hood for my vert but is not the correct hood for '55 so i been looking for a '55 4 tab hood (that hood is 7 months only by the way) for the longest time with no luck. I told the guys at the shop to go ahead and work on the hood I provided. I still kept looking for one and finally just last week I found one in very good condition. I contact the seller and bought it. The hood is in San Fransisco. The only catch is that he won't ship it to me. He says that he doesn't want the hassle so I paid for it and I picked it up yesterday (Saturday). You got to do what you got to do sometimes to get the right parts for your restoration. The front seats I got on my vert before weren't the correct ones. So I start looking for a pair and again this are very rare and hard to find. Searching for quite sometime with no luck till I found a pair but they will need work to be good to use. I bought this seats and a week later I found another pair in very good condition so I bought the second pair as well. All I have to do to this pair of seats is sandblast & powder coat (cover them of course). I still keeping the first pair I found for my oval since it didn't have them and when the time comes to restore the oval I fix those seats. The good thing about this two sets of front seats is that I found them locally so I didn't have to pay for shipping or go and pick them up too far away. Another thing is that the choke cable tube or tunnel on the pan is clog either with rust/corrosion OR part of the old choke cable still in there. I'm trying to open it so I can feed the new cable thru. And the list of setbacks goes on and on so I just going to take it day by day till Is completely done. it doesn't matter how long it will take me. So treffen... is out of the question! But my vert is getting finish with the correct parts.

And here are some pictures of my '55 4 tab hood that I just found in perfect condition not even the typical crack caused by the prop! Hard to find since is only a 7 months hood.
