Nice David! I like to see the pictures as well. Scan them and post them up. I always wonder about those adjustable spring plates. So you like them, huh? Frank WHAT?!?! For real what happened to it? Yea man you were young, and Huntington Park huh? I grew up in South Gate!! You are a "Brujo"! Well, that was close enough. I was west of Huntington Park in well, they call it Florence District. I sold the bug. It was a (believe it or not) 3 fold ragtop '55 with 8X16 at the rear and 4.5X15 up front. I had Toyota Supra black leather seats (front & back) and a full roll cage. It was painted blue, four different shades of blue. At front was royal blue the two strips with darker blue and the back was midnight blue. That thing was super fast and used to pop Wheelies so I had to install wheelie bar, the one behind the rear wheels and short so you couldn't see them. The fastest I drove it was about 135mph and the pedal wasn't even all the way to the floor. I use to love that bug. We use to hang out at the Tommy's burger just south of Pacific on Florance. In one of those runs I guy came up to me and ask me if the bug was for sale? I told him if the price is right... everything is for sale. Just to shoot me an offer and he did. I sold it for $10k! That was back in '89 (if I remember correctly). I miss that Bug!
