Thanks Frank Yeah, I put that on Robert, gonna have to make brackets to hang the muffs from the engine still though, live and learn. Along with a bunch of other repairs. Heres a pic when I went to look at it. Put Pontiac caps on it for now, waiting on bullets to cover the Pontiac center. Did a H4 headlight conversion, had to cut the head light buckets out to clear the new bulbs, along with fitting fog lights in the center. Original was std bulbs outside, and highs inside, now the H4's are high/low. Tracked a bunch of electrical bs down. New fuel pump and lines. New accell pump in rt carb, and replacement carb top to replace the P.O.'s stripped threads on the fuel inlet, not safe at all. Got a convertable bench to mount in the back, lays down into a bed. lol. Repaired the speedo, would jump around over 30mph. And fixed the "shaved dash" Before during (had to weld up 53 holes in the dash from rivets) after Things to do still are replace a choke element on the rt side, muffler brackets, replace a bad steering relay ( similar to a idler arm ) not looking forward to that, replace the turn sig cancel ring and hook up the cable for it. Im sure Im missing some things. Thanks for not shunning my deviation from VW's, I am a car nut and enjoy many different types of vehicles, besides I traded a Hot Rod for this, not a VW. If it were a VW though I would never had been able to get what I got for the money that I had into the Hot Rod, though it would have been cool to get a split bus as nice as this van. It only has 2 rust spots both about 4"x6". Having a driveable fun vehicle has definetly helped get that urge to work on my bug back, all in time.

The opening was there, had to buy a ash tray, and glove box. Also need to either fab up a box for it or order one, and judging by the price I will be making one. lol. Im a cheap basturd.
Oh I sanded and painted the steering wheel also. Today I woke up early and went and worked on the turn signal setup, and sure enough chipped the paint on the wheel taking the horn button off. Time to touch it up already.
