accessories are only good if you like them. I have many on my 54, and I can put a ton more but I think I have enough on it.
My opinion is that swamp coolers dont belong on bugs, they belong to the old american cars like chevys or fords. I think if volkswagen made something extra for your bug and for that year, it should be called an accessory. If you find an old surf board or set of skies and slap them on your bug, that is not an accessory. it is just something that you like and you want to rock it. Dont take me wrong im going to put some skies on my 64 and maybe a surfboard. PS: me 64's new name is called "Back in the days", it will be on the streets soon. It will be empi equiped.

If it's CALLED an accessory....it IS an accessory ! Curb feelers, swamp coolers,bug deflectors,ski racks/skis,....you name it...Hell, VW made ski racks fer VWs !

i found in my pile o stuff a {in the box} vintage 1955 heavy cast chrome
3 toggle switch panel
i scavenged the old 1 pole switches out and mounted the horn /siren /fog lamp switches there for my 36 coupe !

I just picked up some acessories, A Banjo Sterring wheel and Sun/Moon Center cap, chrome Albert mirrors and Pop out windows. I would consider those acessories.
Fuzzy dice NOT an acessory, its more of a style thing, not my style none-the-less, unless their chrome hahahaha, but somebodies style. Curb scraper an acessory, something useful to the person while using the car, should be considered an acessory.

So...my tow hitch IS an accessorie ! It's useful....and my lighted fender poles are accessories....lets me know where my fenders are ...my license plate frame is an accessorie...lets me know where my bug was bought...my DHK plaque...lets me know what club I'm in...hey, I forget a lot ! My dash plaques let me know ...where I've been...Muahahahahaha !!

Does this count as a Accessory? Not for my VW (I have a Allstate wood box swivel wheel for the bug once its on the road), but picked up this '67 Apache pop up to tow with my '63 Corvair van. Gotta get it reg'd/insrd, and a hitch for the van before it goes anywhere. A huge thanks goes to Sal for trusting me to use his truck to get it home.   |
