So...what's the deal with all the over due license plate tags ...they all have 09 tags

i dunno how it's done there in the U.S., but here, we register our vehicles based on the 2nd and last digit of our license plates. for example: my bug's plate numbers are (DBY) 890...the 3rd digit (0) means that i'll register my bug on the 10th month of the year (october). the 2nd digit (9) determines which week of the month of october. so to make things simple...i'll register my bug on the last week of the 10th month. that explains why some of us have still use the '09 tags even though it's already 2010. though, i noticed the red Kg whose plate number ends with a 1, still haven't registered for 2010 ;D

So you guys get the tag with the year you start your registration, right?
Here in the States, we get the tags for the end of the regisration.

Thanx fer clearin THAT up Dino...Just outta curiosoty...how much does it cost to register yer VW...Mine cost me $85..it's a 1965. I bought it in 2007 and it cost $38....Thanks to the Governator..it more than doubled !!!

@ robert: i think i paid around $70.00 for the over all registration which includes the following expenses:
1. actual registration fee 2. smoke emission testing (the computer printout is attached to the registration papers) 3. Third Party Liability Insurance policy

JEEBUS !! ALL that fer $70 Just the emissions test is $50 plus $10 fer the cert to send to the dmv...Luckily,I don't have to "smog' my VW !
