Howdy,
I'm fatal. Some people call me FIE, some call me a schmuck, some just refer to me in language that isn't suitable for small children and animals.
Been into the VW scene off and on since high school, and have been more active over the last couple of years. I live in Mesa, AZ, and am a member of the Daily Driven Dubz Phoenix (D3PX) Chapter. Currently I'm daily driving my '66 T1, we call him Clyde:
Up front, he's sporting an Airkewld 4" narrowed adjustable static beam with towers, and drop spindles. Front rubber's 195/50 Kumho Ecstas. He's down 2 outers in the rear and running 225/60's on a 67 swingaxle with stock 67 gears and 66 axles. Wheels are AE polished 5 spokes, 5.5x15 wide 5's. Front shocks are empi oil filled rears are KYB gas-a-justs Paint's a PPG Sunburst Orange. I can't take any credit for the body work though, it was done when we bought the car. We've redone all of the mechanicals since we picked it up, they were all more or less OG and most of them were worn out. The interior is more or less stock, running a Scat shifter and Mitsu Eclipse seats (for now, have lowbacks waiting to be covered and they go in). Motor's a 1641, 009 dizzy/34 pict3, running through a header and stinger.
Here's a couple more pics
Future plans are going to be up to my 14 year old, he's going to redo this one over the next couple of years so he can drive it when he turns 16.
Just picked this up a couple weeks ago for my next project:
'63 rag, I'm still working through the ideas for it on paper, but it's looking like something in atlas blue and 2 litres is coming down the road for this one. It doesn't have a name yet, I'll have to decide as I work through the project what we're going to call it.
We've also got an '05 New Beetle Convertible, you can see it in the pics of the '63. It's a fun little car to drive with the 1.8T and the tiptronic, but it's not the same as driving an old one...
Anyway, hola!
