ok i need all the help i can get i just bought a perfectly good running motor its a 2275 but when i went to install it into the car i decided to change the pulley that was on it the new pulley went on real tight so what i did is put it in with an impact gun big mistake when i installed it and turn it on the motor has a loud knocking noise in the front. so i think i broke it but not sure what i broke any advice? ?

its in place didnt move i was told that the space behind the pully was bent but it looks ok to me o and the other thing when the pulley is on there is no free play the pully dosent move

Sounds to me you might have lost the "endplay" in the crank or maybe you installed a non sand sealed pulley on a sand sealed case?

thanks but we found the problem i took it to my friends house and we took one of the heads off and we found out there was a screw in there between the head and piston so i need a new piston and head great huh........

ive had that happen inline 6 swallowed a bolt and my buddy said nothing!!! so i pulled the head off reground the valve seats used the same stuff just cleaned it up with a new head gasket and it ran great it looked bad at first but cleaned up fast without taking away to much metal it was a Pontiac esprit overhead cam 6cyl 4 barrel 4 valve per cyl 4 spd {firebird} was a dam cool car ! i couldn't find a replacement that's why i tried it that way any way it ran fine for many years till i sold it off

is they are 94 stroker pistons and the cb 044 heads but i got lucky i took the head to old speed he looked at it and said it was fine he just shaved the markings down and sold me a good used set of 94 pistons for 60 bucks so it wasnt to bad of a deal
