What part of Torrance do you live in? I lived in Torrance in the 50's. I lived at 3953 w. 187 st. and went to North High, graduated in 59 and joined the Army. I was looking at Bing maps today and there is nothing the same anymore except the power lines. So many apartment houses, I can't figure where everyone works.
When I lived there all we had was bean fields and strawberry patch's. and believe it or not Torrance didn't have any smog. Later Dave sword181

im near fire station #1 wilson park remember the big black hangar buildings ! my house was built in 1926

Are you talking about the old Douglas Torrance plant? My dad workrd there.

no that was on western my dad worked there too the one im talking about was carson and crenshaw about 2 blocks south

That was a long time ago. I think that was the Harvey plant. When I was a kid at North High they took us to the Harvey plant for a field trip. I remember that was south of Douglas.

YEP KIND OF DATES US allot of little aircraft machine shops there now all gone i friend still owns 1 in town but now it's space craft parts too
