I have been requested to cleanup my act and get rid of the junk around the shop. So.... Friday I made two trips to the scrap metal place and sold nearly 2000 lbs of scrap metal, mostly VW parts. I still have lots of stuff left so today my friends came over and we cut up a Super body and two '67 bugs. parts will be salvaged where possible but most of the cars will go across the scales. Louisiana is just too rough on Beetles. Both '67s were flooded during Katrina. The dash boards and roofs were salvaged. Super chopped up:1st '67 chop in progress.2nd '67 cutupThanks, "G"

You were busy this weekend Gary. How were those bumper? Were they straight or did they have dings, dents? They look original to me.

Believe me there was no good parts on those cars. Most parts were original and we did salvage everything we could. I loaded the car hauler today, these bodies will go across the scales next Sat. "G"

They don't pay much for sheet metal. My first load 700 lbs, was $20. I had three radiators too and I got $19 for them. My second load was heavier stuff 1580# and got $70 for it.

Well I didn't do it for the money, but to get the boss lady off my back. I would be much happier to have kept my parts. :-)

More shop cleaning this weekend. I got rid of the mid-engine sandrail, 8 rear ends and 8 front ends. I made a great trade for all of the parts and pieces. The sandrail went to his new home today: Much easier to unload than load: I came home with my prize: A complete Front End Loader (FEL) for my tractor. "G"
