I built this for my tractor but it can be used for your bug or as a temporary paint booth. It is made of One Inch EMT conduit some 1/4" bolts of various lengths. You will need a drill with 1/'4" bit, EMT conduit bender, hacksaw or grinder with cut off wheel, a pair of 7/16" wrenches, a big hammer and a tape measure.
First I bent all of the pieces. I used 3/4" galvanized pipe to join the sections together.
These are all of the pieces bent. Three roof pieces bent 45 degrees in the middle and six legs each bent 45 degrees at the end.
Once I assembled the parts I covered it with a tarp.
I used thin rope to tie down the shelter to some big cross ties and I tied back the extra tarp. This is a temporary shelter and to prevent it from blowing away during thunder storms it is open on each end. Plenty of room for both tractors. Typical size for the material i used is ten feet long, 8 to 10 feet high and about 12 feet wide.
Both the tractor and lawn mower fit easily:
I plan to draw up a set of plans and instructions of how I built this in case any one is interested. Once cut and assembled it can easily be disassembled and reused.

Really nice job!! It looks great, I bet the tractor was happy to be out of the sun!! Actually in Louisiana the liquid sunshine is the problem. It has rained everyday for the past two weeks. Walking in my yard sounds like I am stepping on wet sponges. [quote author=mannequinman board=general thread=692 post=6689 time=1254117683]"I" have the space...just no conduit BENDER. If you know an electrician or vist an electrical supply house they may bend the 45s for you. Everything I used was purchased at Lowe's except the tarp that I got from Tractor Supply. Two days of work and about $200 worth of material. "G"

Liquid sunshine!! AAAAHHH! I personally like the rain but Im not sure I could two weeks!! That must be some rainbow when it dries!!! It doesn't rain continously. Mostly in the afternoon. This past Saturday it rained four times. Usually for an hour or so. I just walked out to the tractor to replace the points, I got the dizzy cap off and it started pouring. An hour later I went back and the distributor was full of water and the cap was soaked. Now at least I have a dry place to keep it. Thanks for the good words. "G"

Have you always lived in Louisiana? You must at some point get used to the rain, no?

Actually I lived in Kentucky until I was 9 years old. My mother is from Louisiana. Two weeks after we moved in we were hit by Hurricane Betsy (1964) Betsy was much more distructive and killed more people than Katrina. I am accustomed to rainy weather. I seldom use an umbrella and I have often put up quick shelters to protect me from the rain. When I worked in the plants outdoors the first thing they issued us was rain suits. I have been to Las Vegas twice, and both times it rained. I went to New York city on vacation the locals were complaining about high humidity (80%) and it rained for two days. My first visit to Los Angeles was last year and it rained then too. For the past three days we have had gorgeous weather, nice and cool high 70s to low 80s with 60s at night. No clouds and no rain. We are expecting rain Saturday night or Sunday during the day. Gary
